Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 tablespoon ghee
  • ½ teaspoon fenugreek seed
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 3 medium raw potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 fresh green chili, seeded and sliced lengthwise
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon crushed ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Heat oil and ghee. Fry fenugreek seeds till they pop. Add the onions and potatoes. Fry 5 minutes.

Add all the remaining ingredients, cover and cook over lowest heat, stirring constantly. If necessary add a bit of water. Cover and cook until potatoes are tender.
