Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. country style spare ribs
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • ½ cup chile sauce (Heinz)
  • cup lemon juice
  • ½ cup water

Directions

Brown ribs on all sides, then place in the bottom of a crockpot. Combine remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl and blend thoroughly.

Pour the sauce over the ribs, and cook on low for 7 to 8 hours, or high for 3 to 3-1/2 hours. Serves 6, with side dishes.
