This came from a co-worker long ago...


  • 6 cups oats
  • 1 cup bran or bran flakes
  • 1 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • ½ cup almonds or other nuts
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup honey or molasses or maple syrup


Mix dry ingredients together with hands. Any combination of whole grains can be used to total 10 cups.

Pour liquid ingredients together and mix well, then mix into dry ingredients. Spread over bottom of large flat pan, and bake at 350-375°F for 45 to 60 minutes, stirring frequentlty, until toasted brown. Cool and serve with milk, yogurt, apple sauce, etc.
