Ingredients

  • 4 kiwis, sliced
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon 5-spice powder
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • water
  • black sesame seeds (opt)

Directions

Mix dry ingredients together, then add enough water to make a medium batter and mix in the oil and sesame seeds. Refrigerate for an hour.

Roll kiwi slices in flour or cornstarch, then dip in batter and drop in deep oil. Fry until golden brown, and serve for dessert with dusting of powder sugar.
