These are "live" because all ingredients are raw. Simple and delicious, if you have a dehydrator available.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups hulled sunflower seeds
  • 1-½ cups flax seed
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 12 cup cherry tomatoes
  • ¼ cup tamari
  • 1 jalapeño pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest

Directions

Soak seeds overnight in cold water, leaving room in the container for the seeds to double in size.

Run the vegetables through a food processor until liquified, then add tamari, oil, zest and flax seed and blend well. Add the sunflower seed last, and chop to desired consistency.

Flatten 1-inch balls of the dough into 3" rounds, about 1/8" thick, on cookie sheets. Place in a dehydrator for 24 hours.
