the shoring wall takes shape

Progress has been pretty steady over the last month, though the contractor took the week off between Christmas and New Years. The panorama shows how far down the excavation has proceeded, through the 4th lift. The first three lifts have been drilled, tiebacks and soil nails were installed and grouted into place, then the wall was sprayed with shotcrete.

Here are more detail pictures, showing one of the truckloads getting filled, shotcrete application, and smoothing the shotcrete surface.

And last, here is the current pile of boulders that we’ve extracted from the hillside. We hope to use them for landscaping….
